Program Description
Transition Coach Training is a seminar for those who mentor or are seeking to mentor ex-offenders. Topics covered in the seminar include:
-Transition coach description, qualifications and program requirements
-Understanding ex-offenders
-Characteristics of effective coaching
-Understanding poverty and strategies to transition out of poverty
-Motivational interviewing: preparing people for behavior change

The Institute for Prison Minstries at the Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College is a resource center that supports and serves professionals and volunteers who share the gospel of Jesus Christ and disciple prisoners and ex-offenders, and minister to the families of prisoners.
Presenter
Dr. Karen Swanson is the Director of the Institute for Prison Ministries (IPM) at the Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College. IPM serves as a resource center for professionals and volunteers who bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to prisoners and their families. Karen has experience teaching life skills, bible studies and evangelism training in correctional facilities and mentoring ex-offenders.
